Pauline facing organ rejection again

After five months recovering from a bout of rejection Pauline showed good signs of progress and was gaining strength and we started making plans for her return to Australia. Unfortunately she was readmitted to hospital five weeks ago and is once again in chronic organ rejection. The doctors are working very hard around the clock to save the transplanted organ but Pauline is very ill and is in a great deal of pain. We will keep you updated on Pauline’s progress

This is very sad news indeed. I have followed Pauline’s progress for some time now with concern for her and also her loved ones through all these trials.

I do hope, and will pray this night for Pauline’s improvement and full recovery. I don’t think Phar Lap had as much ticker as this exceptional young lady has.

Thank you for posting this latest report about Pauline. My very best wishes for Pauline’s health and great admiration for her and her family.

    Hi Pauline,

Just to let you know that there are a lot of us in Aus who have not forgotten you and are with you all the way in your fight. You had a tough time to get your transplant and you’re still having a tough time after it, but don’t give up (easy for me to say I know) just keep remembering the prize at the end – good health and a normal happy life which you are so deserving of.

    All the best

    Trish

    Hi all,

I want to post a quick message to say thank you for all of your support and the kind words that I have received and am still receiving, even one year in to my transplant plight. I apologise that it has taken me so long to update you personally, but if you read the update you will understand I have had very little time outside the hospital to recover.

So, I still need your prayers as we battle my third round of chronic rejection of my new intestines. We are slowly moving forward in some ways but to the detriment of my body; to which the side effects of the strong anti-rejection drugs and steroids are causing both short and long term issues/illnesses.

We will have to meet with all of the doctors and health practicioners (next week) to now look seriously at the options for me from here. My family, friends and especially my Mum Linda, as she has put her life on hold to support me over here in the U.S. I would also like to particularly thank my two sisters (Kristy & Amber) who have sacrificed so much to assist Mum and I during this time.

Last but definately not least is my wonderful friend Marni, who has kept this website and Facebook updated as I have been unable to, so that you in turn know what’s happening with me.

I’d like to give big hug to all mentioned above and a group hug goes out to all that have boosted my spirits in letting me know that they are thinking of me, weather through email, cards, Facebook, website blogs etc… They all reach me and touch my heart.

So bye for now and I shall endevour to post more updates to keep you in the loop.

    Hugs and kisses,

    Pauline
